Studying Arabic syntax and morphology with Shaykh Ibrahim has been an absolute pleasure. We have been focusing on Alfiyyah Ibn Mālik (Arabic grammar) and Shadhā al-ʿArf (Arabic morphology). He has a gift for simplifying the material, making it digestible for the beginner, intermediate, and even the advanced student of the Arabic language. He does not move on to the next topic unless he ensures that you have fully comprehended everything that was covered. He is extremely patient and gentle when teaching and very encouraging. In addition to all of these praiseworthy qualities, he has a great amount of knowledge about the subject matter and can refer you to important books, scholars, and even additional YouTube lessons on the same book. I would advise anyone who wants to progress in the Arabic language to study with Shaykh Ibrahim Farooqui.

Ustadh Ibrahim is extremely clear and efficient in his teaching. After a year of study, I can read and understand intermediate Arabic, speak and write more consistently, follow intermediate listening material, translate many Qur’anic verses, and analyse them grammatically.

The delivery and breakdown of the material is excellent. Clearly, the Ustadh (Moustafa) is a master. He makes the content accessible, and no time is wasted on superfluous matters. In other classes, there is a lot of discussion on material that an average student of balāghah would never come across or is not necessary at this stage.

Ustadh Ibrahim provides excellent teaching and care to all of his students. He utilizes various content to acquaint students with the different aspects of the Arabic language. They are also offered sufficient exercises and homework to further aid their comprehension. In the end, students have a more well-rounded grasp of the Arabic language, efficiently speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Additionally, Ustadh Ibrahim exhibits excellent character and manners, which are highly desired in any teacher.

Before the course, much of the grammar I had learned felt like rules I had memorized blindly. Now I am filling gaps in my knowledge, having countless lightbulb moments while reading the Qur’an, and understanding the reasoning behind the rules.

Thorough covering of the science. Reference material and further reading given. Timing and length of course was just right. I liked how everything started to link together from my study of Naḥw, Ṣarf, Balāghah, Qirāʾāt and Tawḥīd. Alḥamdulillāh, I was happy with the course. I wanted to do this course for a long time, but most seminaries or madrasas don’t teach it.

My proficiency in iʿrāb was very weak before the course. Now I am much more confident and have gained a far better understanding of the iʿrāb of words and sentences, alḥamdulillāh.

Alḥamdulillāh. The calmness and the clarity possessed by the instructor are really motivating.
